I’m Kim Gilson—author, speaker, and coach of Kingdom Storytellers—and I believe stories have the power to change lives. Especially your story.
I’ve been a teacher my whole life. As a little girl, I turned my bedroom into a classroom, complete with a chalkboard and stuffed animals as students. I even held parent-teacher conferences with their imaginary parents (yes, I was that kid!). That love for teaching followed me through life—from the band hall to the math classroom to leading adults—and along the way, I discovered that my real gift is helping people make sense of complex things with laughter, honesty, and connection.
But in 2014, my world changed. My husband Paul passed away suddenly from a blood clot. In the midst of deep grief, I had to fight for joy—for myself and for my two boys, Trent and Cade. It was in that hard season that I learned the power of healing, of walking with God through pain, and of using my voice to speak truth and hope. That journey led me to become a certified speaker, trainer, and coach. And eventually, it led me here.
After retiring from public education in 2022, I felt God calling me to something new: to help people recognize the value of their story and speak it out boldly. That’s why I created Kingdom Storytellers—to equip everyday people to share real stories that bring light to a dark world. Because not everyone will pick up a Bible, but they will listen to a trusted voice. Your voice.
These days, I live in Midlothian, Texas with my two dogs, Duchess and Cosmo. I love courthouse selfies with my husband Don, cheering on my grown boys, and avoiding kale at all costs. I’m also part of the preaching team at Harvest Hill Church and love helping people live fully into their purpose.

What is Kingdom Storytellers all about?

Do I need to be a public speaker or writer to join?
Not at all! You don’t need a platform—you just need a story. Kingdom Storytellers is for everyday people who have experienced God’s faithfulness and want to share that with others. Whether you’re sharing over coffee or on a stage, your voice matters.
What if I don’t know what my story is yet?
That’s okay! Our coaching process is designed to help you uncover key moments of transformation in your life. Through guided prompts, reflection, and support, we’ll help you identify your message and communicate it with clarity and confidence.
How does the coaching process work?
Our coaching includes one-on-one sessions, small group gatherings, and story-building tools to help you prepare and present your testimony. You’ll learn how to share your story with authenticity, biblical truth, and emotional impact.
Is this only for people in ministry?
Nope! Kingdom Storytellers is for anyone who wants to use their story for Kingdom impact—teachers, business owners, parents, students, creatives, and more. If you’ve seen God move in your life, you’re invited to share that hope with others.
What happens after I finish the coaching?
Once you complete the process, you'll walk away with a fully crafted testimony and the confidence to share it. You’ll also be part of a growing community of storytellers who encourage and uplift one another as we live out our calling together.
